Located on the ruins of an older mill (probably from the beginning of the 18th century), the Cheneux mill was built in 1815, with the permission of the Queen of the Netherlands, when the region joined the Dutch kingdom following the defeat of Napoleon at Waterloo.
From 1861, the Seffer family succeeded the Dubois family as owner of the mill. Several generations of Seffer continued the work of producing flour and tan, until the Second World War when the mill was abandoned for a few years.
Sir Wetz, his wife and his son, took over the torch from 1949 until 2014 when the mill went on sale.
Passionate about old stones, industrial buildings and water mills, the two cousins Olivier and Denys were immediately seduced.
Being in search of an exclusive place to spend privileged family moments, they decide to acquire together the domain in order to give a youth to this mill, while preserving its soul acquired over the centuries.
From 2015, the mill is completely renovated, on the one hand by making the water wheel active again to produce electricity, on the other hand to transform the property into comfortable accommodation, combining the old and the contemporary.in.
Since August 2020, the mill has been available for rent for holiday stays that can accommodate up to 15 guests.
